About the project 

Back in 2020, Fidelity Viewpoints approached us about creating an interactive showing how the outcome of the presidential and congressional elections could affect your finances. We were beyond thrilled for the opportunity to marry our passions for interactive design and politics. When the presidential elections came around again, we were asked to do an update.

Empowering Everyone with Financial Insights

In addition to updated information, we were excited to work with the Fidelity accessibility team to ensure our interactive worked flawlessly for people with all abilities. We implemented keyboard controls so users could effortlessly tab through the experience and audio-reader tagging so the visually impaired could follow along seamlessly.

The interactive breaks down potential financial impacts in five key areas:

Estate Planning

Users then move a slider spanning from Democratic to Republican electoral outcomes to see how government control may affect these areas over the next four years. Left, right, or somewhere in between, this interactive has the goods to help you prepare for the future.
