We recently had the pleasure of joining Danielle McFadden, President of the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, on the Inside Lowell sponsored podcast Chamber Chat—and we had a blast. The conversation covered a little bit of everything: how we got started, what it’s like working together as a creative duo, the kind of work we do at A+R Media Studio, and some of the exciting things we’re working on now.
If you haven’t had a chance to listen, you can check out the full episode below.
From Aerospace to Art Direction: Our Origin Story
A+R Media Studio started back in 2004, but our story began a few years before that. Andee was the first to jump from the agency world into freelance design, and when the projects started growing in size and scope, Rudy joined her. His background in aerospace engineering might sound like a leap from digital development—but it turns out systems thinking and problem solving are pretty universal skills.
Over the years, we’ve built a business (and a life) rooted in collaboration. Andee leads on strategy and design, Rudy on development and implementation—and we bring our clients in as full creative partners.
Big Ideas, Small Studio
One of the things we talked about on the podcast is how we approach our work—whether we’re designing for a global company or a local nonprofit. We like to say we’re the tiny agency for the big client and the big agency for the tiny client. That means we bring the same level of care, creativity, and strategic thinking to every project, no matter the size or budget.
Our services include:
- Brand strategy, messaging, and identity design
- Website design and WordPress development
- Digital marketing and SEO
- Print and digital collateral
- Interactive experiences like quizzes, games, and apps
Most recently, we launched a Managed WordPress Service for small business owners who want a professional website—without the stress of updates, tech issues, or figuring it all out alone. We handle the design, development, hosting, and maintenance, and we’re just an email or phone call away for support.
Lowell Roots, Local Love
We’ve been proud to call Lowell home since 2018. It’s a city full of creativity, grit, and good ideas—and we’re always looking for ways to be part of the community that inspires us. We recently led a redesign of the Lowell Makes website, where Rudy volunteers as co-captain of the electronics shop and Andee volunteers as marketing director
We also get our hands dirty—literally—as part of the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race. Our current labor of love is the Aluminum Falcon, where we hope this year to make it to the finish line. We love being involved with both organizations as they celebrate what’s possible when creativity meets community.
Coming Up
We’ve got a few exciting things on the calendar:
- Aug. 27: Digital Marketing 101 for Small Businesses Webinar at the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce
- Sept. 3: Small Business Liftoff speaker series kicks off in Boston
- Sept. 20: Let’s see if the Falcon will fly at the Lowell Kinetic Sculpture Race
We’re so grateful to Danielle and the Chamber for the opportunity to share our story. If you’re curious about what we do, want to collaborate, or just want to say hi—drop us a line at contact@armediastudio.com. We’d love to hear from you.
